Sentence structure
The word order in Japanese is subject, object, and predicate.

The following sentence uses nouns, adjective, and verb.

Noun
Japanese nouns do not have the concept of number or the masculine and feminine gender.

Adjective
There are two types of adjectives in the Japanese language. These are the イ-adjectives and ナ-adjectives.
イ-adjectives end with い when placed before a noun.
ナ-adjectives end with な when placed before a noun.
わたし ほん よ
私 は おもしろい 本を 読みます。
I interesting book read
イ-adjectives
わたし ゆうめい ほん よ
私は 有名な 本を 読みます。
I famous book read
ナ-adjectives
Verb
In Japanese, the form of the verb changes depending on the sentence.
わたし ほん よ
私は 本を 読みます。
I read a book.
わたし ほん よ す
私は 本を 読むのが好きです。
I like to read books.
ほん よ
この本、 読んでもいいですか?
Can I read this book?
Particle
The は and を in the following sentence are particles.
Particles are added after nouns, and indicate the semantic relationship between verbs and adjectives.
わたし ほん よ
私 は 本を 読みます。
