1.Discuss briefly with example Run above and below the mean test.

The "run above and below the mean" test is a statistical analysis technique used to
determine if there is a significant difference between the number of values in a dataset
that fall above or below the mean.

To perform this test, you first calculate the mean (average) of the dataset. Then, you
compare each value in the dataset to the mean and count the number of values that are
above the mean and the number of values that are below the mean. If the difference
between these two counts is substantial, it suggests that there might be a systematic
difference in the dataset.

Let's consider an example to illustrate this concept. Suppose we have a dataset of exam
scores for a class of 30 students:

75, 82, 68, 90, 77, 81, 65, 92, 88, 79, 83, 72, 84, 87, 74, 78, 80, 71, 76, 73, 85, 69, 86, 89, 70,
75, 77, 84, 81, 78

First, we calculate the mean by summing all the values and dividing by the total count:
(75 + 82 + 68 + ... + 78) / 30 = 78.1

Next, we compare each value to the mean and count how many are above or below it.
In this case, we find that 14 scores are above the mean (82, 90, 81, 92, 88, 79, 83, 84, 87,
80, 85, 86, 89, 81) and 16 scores are below the mean (75, 68, 77, 65, 72, 74, 71, 76, 73, 69,
70, 75, 77, 78).

In this example, we observe that there are more scores below the mean than above it.
This difference might indicate that the class, on average, is performing slightly below the
mean. However, to draw more meaningful conclusions, further statistical analysis such as
hypothesis testing or confidence intervals may be required.
The "run above and below the mean" test provides a simple way to identify potential
patterns or deviations in a dataset. However, it's important to note that it is just one of
many statistical techniques available and should be used in conjunction with other
methods for a comprehensive analysis.
