nt·C'\.1 t o us k nnythiog botor" starting. Although you nro to road the questions in this book-
kt, y ou mmt record your nnswors on the unswer sheet (alongside the same number as in
the bo oklet).

Thero nro three possible answers · to each question. Read the following oxamples and marlc
your answe ~ ut the top of your nuswcr sheet where It says "Examples." Fill in tho Jeft-
~and b-0x if your 11.nswer ohoicc is tho "a" answor, in tho middle box if your answer choice
1s the "b" answer, and In the right-hnnd box if you choose the "c" answer.
EXAMPLES:
I. I like to watch team games. 3. Money cannot bring happiness.
a. yes, b. occasionally, C. DO. a. yes (true), b. io between, c. no (f.alse),
2. I prefor pe~plo who: 4. Woman is to child as cat is to:
a. are rese.rved, a. kittea. b. dog, c. boy.
b. (are) in between,
c. make friend.s quickly,

In the last example there i~ ~ right answer-kitten. But there are \'Cry few such reason-
ing items.

Ask now if anything is not clear. The examiner will tell you in a moment to tum the page
and start.

When you Rnswer, keep these four points in mind:

I. You are asked not to spend time pondering. Give the first, natural answer as it coi:ues
to you. Of course the questions aro too short to give yon all the particulars you would
sometimes like to h~ve. For instance, the above question asks you about "team games"
and you might be fon-:ler of football t!ian _bask.et ball. But y~u }re to reply_ "for the av-
erage game," or to strike an average in s1tuat1ons ~-f the_ km-. sta, ted. -Give _t~e best
answer you can at a rate not slower than five or six a .mmute. 'l ou should fm1sh in a
little more than hal( an hour.

2. Try not to fall back on tho middle, "uncertain" answers except when_ the snswe-r at
either end is really impossible for you-perhaps once_ every four or five questions.

3. Be sure not 10 skip anything, but answer every question, somehow. Some may not
apply to you vory well, but give your best guoss. Some may · seem personn_l; but reme~i-
ber that the answer sheets are kept confidontinl nnd cannot be scored without a spec11ll
stencil key. Answers to particular questions arc 1101 inspected.

4. Answer as honestly as possible what is t~ue of you. Do not merely mark what seems
''tho righr thing to say" to impress tho cxnminer.
