FIELD STUDY 6: ON BECOMING THE 21ST CENTURY TEACHER


Instructor: JOSEPH M. MANACHO, LPT, MAEd, EdD (CAR)
with units in Business Administration major in Marketing (P.U.P.)

Course Requirements (to be submitted every grading period):


 Accomplished learning activities and exercises stipulated in the modules per
grading period.
 Portfolio (for BEED – Red; for BSED – Blue). Use expanded envelope. (Contents
of the portfolio are accomplished learning activities and exercises, among others)
 Study Notebook (This will serve as your notebook for your reflections on some of
the exercises and activities in the modules.)

Note: Construct your own reflection on activities you are required to do. Do not copy from your
classmate, textbooks or other printed materials, and on the internet.

Note: All the course requirements shall be submitted a week before the examination period or on the deadline set.
Failure to submit the said requirements on the set date means a deduction of points will be incurred.

Grading System:
 Modular Exercises & Activities – 20%
 Portfolio – 20%
 Study Notebook – 20%
 Examination – 40%
100%

Modality/ies:
 This subject will be using a self-learning module as a form of teaching modality.
 Google Meet, Messenger Video Chat and the like will be utilized as
supplementary medium of instruction for some discussions to be made. Schedule
for this scheme will be announced in the group chat.
 All topics included in additional learning activities will be discussed via teaching
platform enumerated in the preceding bullet.

Additional Learning Activities:


 Preliminary Grading Period
 Create your own Class Program and Teacher’s Program. A template will
be given after the discussion. It should be printed on vellum board.

Note: It is your choice whether your Class Program is departmentalized or self-
contained.
 Midterm Grading Period
 Create your own entries for each School Form. Only (1) grading period
will be given entries. All school forms must be printed in long bond
papers.

Note: Entries must be consistent with the data in e-Class Records, Grading Sheets &
Masterlist.
 Pre-Final Grading Period
 Choose one ancillary duty or add-on task of a teacher and create your own
Matrix of Activity. A sample template will be given. It should be printed
in a long bond paper.

Note: Make sure that your entries in the matrix are specific and goals are clearly stated.
 Final Grading Period
 Construct list of learners with awards. This should be printed in a long
bond paper.

Note: List of awardees must be consistent with the data entries in the different forms and
e-Class Record. You may peruse DepEd Order No. 36, s. 2016 for your reference.
 Make a sample graduation program. A sample program will be given after
discussion.

Note: Content of the flow of the program must be simple and in accordance to DepEd
policies and standards.

Q: Where should the modules be submitted?
A: Learning modules must be submitted in the school. These will be disinfected
as part of the minimum health protocol to contain the possible
transmission of the virus.
Q: Are we going to conduct a face-to-face class observation?
A: Absolutely, not. Due to present health crisis, no face-to-face engagement is
allowed. For your observation and reflection, you may copy the following

Q: When should the modules be submitted?
A: A deadline of submission will be posted by the school. Any development on
