AED flat panel detector

Calibration guide
1 The calibration
1.1 Offset calibration
1、Double-click stDetectorTool to start the software, the path of stDetectorTool: C:\stdroc\SONTU.

2、Double-click stDetectorTool to start the software and select the synchronization mode
[AED mode or fixed integral mode], as shown in Figure 1-1-1 below;

3、Click "AED offset update" to conduct calibration, as shown in Figure 1-1-2.

4、After the calibration is completed, the network will be disconnected. Click [exit] and reconnect the
network after about 1 minute, as shown in Figure 1-1-3.

1.2 Gain calibration

It is suggested that the vertical distance from the tube to the flat panel detector (SID)
should be 1.3m. if the SID has not 1.3m, use the biggest SID. At the same time, make

sure the collimator’s light covers the entire flat panel detector .

1、 Turn on the high voltage software and set the appropriate kV and mAs, the path of high voltage
software: C:\stdroc\HFC_PCUserInterfaceV2.0.exe;

2、 Click the exposure enabling of the detector software, and then click [Calibration] to select [Gain
calibration] and enter the gain calibration mode, as shown in Figure 1-2-1;

3、 Click Prepare, lift and press the next level hand break, and press the second level hand break in
time after the countdown window appears, as shown in Figure 1-2-2 and Figure 1-2-3.

4、 Press the exposure handbrake for exposure. If the actual mean value of the image is within the
expected mean value, click "Accept".If the actual mean value of the image is not within the
expected mean value of the image, click [Reject] to readjust the exposure dose for exposure.A
total of 16 images should be calibrated, an exposure dose should be adjusted for each 4 images,
as shown in Figure 1-2-4.

5、 After the gain calibration is completed, click "Complete" to exit the gain calibration mode. "it
allow expose" should be displayed in the red box below.

6、 The following is the reference table for every expected gray value range. When calibration is
carried out at site, the actual exposure dose might be different.

Expected gray value range KV mA ms mAs

5200-6800 70 32 25 0.8
11200-12800 70 32 50 1.6
22800-25200 70 80 50 4.0
30000-34000 70 80 63 5.0

1.3 The calibration data

The path to save the calibration data of the flat plate is: D:\SontuCalibration\ Template folder. After
the calibration is completed, check whether the calibration data has been generated and it can be used
normally, as shown in Figure 1-3-1 below.
