ABOUT THIS GUIDE

SS 24 is a season that attempts a much-needed course correction in a world full of imbalance and excess distractions. From
finding solace through refocusing on time-honored craft and humble refinement, and embracing quirky flamboyance and
playfulness, to working towards a grounded future where technology is human-centric, and seeking flexibility and freedom in our
personal style, SS 24 is as much about innovation as it is time-honored tradition.

Informa Markets Fashion has partnered with creative futures agency FS (Fashion Snoops) to lead the way with an inspiring and
informed look at what is happening for SS 24 in womenswear, from advanced to young contemporary markets. This guide is part
of a larger program, including a digital session which will explore these concepts in more depth, as well as onsite presentat ions at
IMF events.

As a compliment to the upcoming trend events, this guide identifies the four overarching Design Aesthetics that will frame the
season. Finding a way to align newness in design with consumer culture, these edited takeaways are meant to inspire and
examine how each theme will influence color, silhouette, materials, print and pattern, and key items for the season ahead.

CURIOSITY
SS 24 DESIGN AESTHETICS

There’s a remarkable new normal we’re learning to embrace: one in which the offbeat is present but refined; the everyday feel s weird and wondrous; and
hedonism comes out in humorous, playful ways. We strive to bring down the barriers of fantasy and whimsy, and create an off k ilter reality for ourselves
that puts the focus on things like textures that tickle our fancy and trompe l'oeil that tricks the mind. The result is a marvelous mix of natural surrealism,
feminine flamboyance, and playhouse peculiarity.

We work to integrate technology and goodness–to bridge our most valuable lessons with prototypes of progress. We strive for a “betterverse” where the
impact of innovation is somehow softened, in keeping with our wish to be rooted to our heritage. We also attempt to reinterpr et tradition in a way that feels
comfortable, soulful, and infused with necessary novelty. When it comes to design, new uses will emerge, smarter ways to do t hings unfold, and more
