Bar Parts and Basic Bar Tools and Equipment - Glassware
Before starting the lesson, set aside other tasks that can disturb you while studying
the lessons. Read the simple instructions below to successfully enjoy the objectives of this
module.

mechanical equipment;

Importance of glassware in the bar operations are:
1. It is a part of the overall concept of the bar.
2. Its style, sparkle and quality express the personality of the bar.
3. It has the part in measuring the drinks you serve.
4. A message carrier: that means you know what you are doing.
5. A merchandising tool.

Collins glass It is used to serve Collins cocktails in particular and other
cocktails or drinks
Granite glass It is used to serve specialty cocktails.
Highball glass It is used to serve juices, tea, soft drinks and other cocktails.
Juice glass It is used to serve juices during breakfast.
Old fashioned It is used to serve drinks on the rocks.

Pilsner glass It is use to serve Pilsner beer or beer in can or bottle.
Pint glass It is used to serve beer in large bottle or quantity.

CARE OF GLASSWARE
Handle glassware with care.
Do not wash glasses mixed with plates or spoons.
Never use it in scooping ice.
Throw chipped or broken glass.
Do not pour hot liquid in cold glasses.
Never stack glasses.
Do not handle glass all at once.
Always hold the glass in the stem
