Major Types of Glassware


a. Tumbler – is a flat-bottomed glass that is basically a bowl without a stem.
b. Footed ware – is the style of glass which the bowl sits directly with the base.
c. Stemware – a glass with three main features
d. Mug – is a thick glass with ear or handle used mostly for serving beers or some hot beverage.

TUMBLER TYPES
Collins glass It is used to serve Collins cocktails in particular and other
cocktails or drinks
Granite glass It is used to serve specialty cocktails.
Highball glass It is used to serve juices, tea, soft drinks and other cocktails.
Juice glass It is used to serve juices during breakfast.
Old fashioned It is used to serve drinks on the rocks.

Pilsner glass It is use to serve Pilsner beer or beer in can or bottle.
Pint glass It is used to serve beer in large bottle or quantity.
Scotch glass It is used to serve whisky on the rocks.
Shooters glass It serves shooter drinks.

Absinthe glass It is used to serve absinthe liqueur.
Banquet goblet It is used to serve water.
Brandy inhaler It is used to inhale brandy aroma.
Brandy snifter It is used to sniff brandy aroma.
Cordial glass It is used to serve cordials or liqueurs or rainbow
cocktails.
Dutch brandy It is used to warm brandy before drinking.

CARE OF GLASSWARE
Handle glassware with care.
Do not wash glasses mixed with plates or spoons.
Never use it in scooping ice.
Throw chipped or broken glass.
Do not pour hot liquid in cold glasses.
Never stack glasses.
Do not handle glass all at once.
Always hold the glass in the stem
