QUESTION 1: (Suggested Time: 60 minute)

The construction industry is one of the important sectors crucially needed to develop our
country's economy and thus able to improve our competitiveness. However, in line with the
growth of the economy, the construction sector also contributes to the high fatal accident rate.
Construction workers are often exposed to various inherent risks associated with working
conditions on construction sites. In the last five years, statistic data from SOCSO and DOSH
have shown an increasing number of fatal accident cases 231.9% and 125.8% respectively
[Abdul Rahim et.al 2019]

You have just been appointed as the safety and maintenance graduate engineer in the gold
quarry production processing at Rusila Terengganu. There was no proper documents and
guidelines on the workers routine activities. To improve the HSE quality, you must cease your
mining activities production for a period of time, resulting in the inability to meet the required
schedule and targets.

Propose the solutions that should be considered if accidents happened. Discuss how
would you handle a situation where there is a conflict between the IEM Regulations on
Professional Conduct and commercial consideration?

One of an aircraft that carry passengers and crew crashed due to the bad weather and kill
everybody on board. Propose an action plan in handling this crisis accordance to the
Crisis Management Plan and discuss comprehensively on how to restore public
confidence towards the airline company.
