TYPES OF

TRUSSES
KING POST
TRUSS
• Suitable for short spans, often used
in extensions, garages, and
outbuildings.

• Characterized by a vertical upright

(king post) with triangular sections
on either side.
QUEEN POST
TRUSS
• Features a vertical upright with two
triangles on each side, less common
compared to other types.

• Has been largely replaced by more

efficient truss designs.
FINK TRUSS
• One of the most common types,
characterized by a 'W' shape
between the chords

• Versatile and efficient, suitable for

various projects due to its simplicity
DOUBLE PITCH
PROFILE TRUSS
• Used to create different roof pitches,
commonly seen in commercial
buildings.

• Offers flexibility in roof design and

aesthetics.
MONO PITCH
TRUSS
• Consists of a single rafter, ideal for
lean-to or single-pitched roofs.

• Provides a straightforward solution

for certain architectural styles.
SCISSOR
TRUSS
• Employed to create vaulted ceilings
or unique ceiling shapes.

• Enhances interior aesthetics and

spatial design.
RAISED TIE
TRUSS
• Raises the lower chord to create
flatter profiles for higher ceilings
with angled edges.

• Offers architectural versatility and

increased ceiling height.
