I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

a) know the steps in adding fractions.

b) solve the problem that shows addition of fractions.

c) apply the concepts learned from this lessons to problems involving real life situation.

improper fraction? numerator is less than the denominator while
improper fraction is fraction with numerator either
equal to or greater than the denominator.

proper fraction and a whole number while
complex fraction is a fraction which the numerator
or denominator contains a fraction.

add the numerator and write the sum over the same
denominator.

To add fractions with dissimilar denominators,
first find the LCD to rename the dissimilar
fractions to similar fractions and then add the
numerators and write the sum over the common
denominator.Reduce the result, if possible to
lowest term.
