MOTION MEDIA
Motion media encompasses visual communication with
moving graphics or texts.
According to Roblyer, motion media aims to convey
information through various means.
Motion is achieved by rendering or displaying multiple
frames per second.
A smooth animation typically consists of 24 frames or
more per second.
MOTION MEDIA
Motion media often follows a sequence of graphics or
images to tell a story.
This sequence is represented by a storyboard, which
illustrates the changing components (audio, visual,
videos, etc.) over time.
Motion media can be produced formally by professionals
or informally by individuals.
FORMAL PRODUCTION
PROCESS
Writers and directors create storyboard.
Scripts are written and dialogue recorded.
Animators sketch major scenes; inbetweeners fill
in details. Background details are added
Drawings rendered. Videos are acted out, shot,
edited, and compiled into the final product.
MOTION MEDIA FORMATS, TYPES AND SOURCES
1. Animations animated GIFs (Graphic Interchange Format), Flash, Shockwave, Dynamic
HTML

2. Video formats/Video Codecs - motion media use large resources. Codecs compresses
and decompresses video files. Examples are H.26N series, Quicktime, DivX, MPG, MP4

3. According to purpose: education, entertainment, advertising

4. According to source: personal, social media, media companies

several categories.
