GRAMMAR SECTION:

A.- LINKING WORDS:

We use and, or and but to connect two parts of sentences which are similar in grammatical status.

Do you want chocolate, strawberry or vanilla? (joining words)


Amy's dad is taking us on Saturday morning, and he's offered to bring us home again on Sunday. (joining
clauses)

 We use and for adding information ( Se usa para agregar información)


 We or for giving alternatives ( Para dar alternativas )
 We use but for different information or contrast ( Para dar información diferente )
 We use because for giving reasons ( Para dar razones )
 We use although for unexpected or different information ( para dar información diferente )
 We use therefore to show a result or reason ( therefore = for that reason = as a result )

( Para mostrar un resultado o razón )

EXAMPLE:

 I'm OK for food, dance and music, and I'm having a wonderful time.
 There's a reggae band from Jamaica OR a Russian electro-pop group on the other stage?
 She’d like to travel to another city but she she has to work 24/7 this month.
 I didn´t travel to Osorno with my family because I was ill in bed.
 She has read many books this year although she has not been in class.
 Anne would like to go out with friends however she prefers to prepare her english lesson.

B.- REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS ( self – pronouns )

 Reflexive pronouns are a type of pronoun that tells the reader that the subject and
object are both the same.
 They always include the suffix 'self' or 'selves' - and this works across both singular and
plural pronouns, such as 'himself', 'herself' or 'themselves'.
 There are eight reflexive pronouns in the English language, they are related to the eight
personal Pronouns:
Myself- yourself- himself- herself- itself- ourselves- yourselves- themselves

C.- PRESENT PERFECT.

Present Perfect Simple es el pretérito perfecto del inglés. Permite conectar el pasado con el presente:
una acción pasada ya terminada da lugar a un estado o situación que sigue teniendo validez en el
presente. Se forma con el presente del verbo auxiliar have /has y el participio del verbo principal.
