LIMITATIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS

 Only two or three readings are not enough to make a valid conclusion.
Improvement: Take more readings and plot a graph.
 Physical quantity value might be small, resulting in a large percentage uncertainty.
Improvement: Make time ten oscillations and take an average.

 Experiment might be affected by wind.

Improvement: Use a windshield.

 Difficulty in determining the start and end of an oscillation.

Improvement: Use a video camera with a slow motion feature and a timer.

 Difficulty in releasing something without applying force.

Improvement: Use a mechanical hand to release the object.

 Heat loss through a beaker or container.

Improvement: Use a polystyrene container or insulate the beaker.

 Measuring instrument is not precise enough.

Improvement: Use a more sensitive instrument like a micrometer or caliper.

 The thickness might not be uniform.

Improvement: Measure around the object or along a rod and calculate an average.

 Parallax error when making a measurement.

Improvement: Use a mirror scale or a better way to measure it.

 Difficulty in making an oscillation in one plane.

Improvement: Trap the object in such a way to ensure the oscillation only occurs in one plane.

 Difficulty in measuring something like the height of an object.

Improvement: Clamp the ruler to maintain a vertical position.
 Friction at the pulley.
Improvement: Apply oil to lubricate the pulley.
 Resistance at the contacts.
Improvement: Clean the contacts.
