1. The Economy
The economy is like a humongous puzzle that helps us understand how money works in our country. It
entails the production of goods and services using resources and the buying and selling of them. Resources are
important in the economy as they can be used to add value to your products.
In larger countries, businesses make clothes, cars or products using agricultural produce
which are goods. Some examples of agro products are jams, seasoning, cocoyea brooms and
sugar. This making of these items is called production. Then, you sell the product which is
called consumption. The money you make is called revenue. Other persons provide services like
teaching or cleaning. When they sell these goods and services, the money helps pay workers and
purchase more materials to grow their business.
Agriculture aids in boosting the economy as it contributes toward revenue earned. When
farmers produce crops, they can feed their families or furthermore sell crops at the market. The profits can be
used to improve farms and generate more products. With this increase in production, the farmer may employ
persons providing job opportunities. Additionally, these items can be exported for further revenue.
Tourism also plays an important role in economic growth. Tourism provides job opportunities as hotels
need staff, chefs need to be available, cleaning staff amongst other jobs. Across the world, there are different
currencies and when tourists visit, they spend their money in our country. Therefore, when products need to be
imported, the foreign currency is used to purchase products.
