Narrative Report (GAD & CPP)
Narrative Report (GAD & CPP)
Pursuant to Section 36 of Republic Act No. 9710, otherwise known as the Magna Carta of
Women (MCW), all government departments, including their attached agencies, offices, bureaus,
state universities and colleges, government instrumentalities shall adopt gender mainstreaming as a
strategy to promote women’s human rights and eliminate gender discrimination in their systems,
structures, policies, programs, processes, and procedures.
To ensure that an absolute, definite, genuine and potential gender biases are removed, the
government embarked on gender and development (GAD) as one of its priority programs. GAD
focuses on the principle that development is for all. Everyone on society, female or male, has the
right to equal opportunities to achieve a full and satisfying life. Women and men enjoy the same
conditions for realizing their full human rights and potentials to contribute to development as well as
benefit from the results.
It is a pertinent will for students to advance their understanding on the philosophy and
pedagogy of education in order to provide quality and relevant education. Conducting talks, such as
GAD and CPP, to educate students on gender equality and child protection.
Patawag National High School considers and holds on that gender equality and child
protection are essential for meeting the school’s goals of comprehensive and continued
development, as gender equality and child protection need to be pursued on its own right for a just,
equal, safe society and foster better development outcomes.
To address the various gender needs and safety concerns of the students, PNHS held a GAD
talk on February 6, 2024 which focuses on two major topics.
The talk started on time. The first topic was discussed by Ms. Kimberly Pontanar, LSB
Teacher. She discussed gender developments, stereotyping and social learnings about gender
development. The second topic was by Dr. Charlie Pescadero, Principal II. He reiterated the laws
covering child protection and issues with regards to teenage pregnancy. The said topics were
discussed, reiterated and were given priority just in time to be aware of the laws about child
protection and be educated about gender equality.
