Narrative Report on 34th GSP Council Wide Camp

Scouting is a fun activity filled with values which is very important part of a student’s life, and it
also develops skills which are also useful to them in their daily lives and to the community. These are just
some of the things everyone gained during the Girl Scout of the Philippines Senior and Junior
Encampment 2024 that was held at Liloy Central School Grounds on February 15 – 18, 2024. It was a
four-day camping activity participated by different scouters of Dapitan, Dipolog and Zamboanga del Norte
Division.

The registration of the scouters happened on the first day. Then, all of the Senior Scouts from
different schools were hand in hand in putting-up and decorating the camp. After that, the scouters then
joined the opening program at 3:00 p.m. The program started with color ceremony, followed by doxology,
then Hon. Annie Gallo, barangay Captain of Fatima, Liloy gave her welcome message, followed by
Roseller Murro, PSDS of Liloy 1 and 2 District, who also welcomed the scouters from different delegation.
Rosevilla L. Montallana, the camp director presented the campers, staffs and guests, then, the scouters
took a break then had their dinner. After that, they then had their socialization by sub-camp. Hon. Roberto
L. Uy, the Municipal Mayor of Liloy gave his message to the campers. Finally, Ann J. Agda, Council
President of ZN declared the opening of 34th Council Wide Camp. After the campers had their dinner they
went to their respective sub-camps and had their socialization. They cheered with their yells. Each
delegation had their dance flash mob presentation.

On the second day of the GSP Council Wide Camp, at 4:00 in the morning, the campers had their
World Thinking Day Ceremony. At 8:00 a.m. was the Advocacy Program, and on the afternoon of Day 2
the campers embarked on a trekking and mangrove planting activity at the under-construction Liloy
Boulevard, and on the evening they had their camp fire with the theme, “Embracing our Culture.” The
campers had their cultural dance presentation and awarding followed.

On the third day of camping, the girls conducted Scouts Own ceremony then went back to their
respective camps and had breakfast. The Adventure in Nature activity took place at Liloy Central School
Grounds at 8:00 a.m, with assistance from the nearby municipal emergency response team. The campers
enjoyed overcoming the various obstacles set up for them. At 2:00 p.m on the afternoon of day 3, the
Coronation Rites for Miss GSP took place. Later in the evening, “Tita’s Night” accured, where adult
leaders participated and showcased their presentations.

On the fourth and final day of camping, the awarding ceremony took place. All campers gathered
at the Fatima Covered Court, bidding farewell as they departed for their respective homes.
