Foreword

Welcome to the SmartSimulator Workbook! This workbook will


guide you through your lab sessions with MAGNETOM systems
based on XA50 or XA51 in the SmartSimulator. You will have a
maximum of 8 hours with your MAGNETOM SmartSimulator – so
make the most of it, have some fun and explore what it can do.
The material in this Basics: Scan UI workbook is based on the
Numaris X platform’s general features and includes a description of
the scan user interface.

Please note: The learning material is for training purposes only.

For the proper use of the software or hardware, please always use
the Operator Manual or Instructions for Use (hereinafter collectively
“Operator Manual”) issued by Siemens Healthineers. This material is
to be used as training material only and shall by no means be
regarded as a substitute for the Operator Manual. Any material used
in this training will not be updated on a regular basis and does not
necessarily reflect the latest version of the software and hardware
available at the time of the training.

Before we proceed with the


patient registration, some
important information about
correcting patient data must
be kept in mind:

• It is possible to change any


patient data before starting the
examination
• Correcting the Height and
Weight attributes only affects
the selected procedure
o If more than one procedure
for the same patient exists,
you must change these
attributes separately for
every procedure
• Correcting attributes that are
used for patient identification by
the Scheduler only affects the
selected procedure
Example: Patient ID
• Constraints on patient data
received from the RIS:
o Only empty fields can be
adapted
o Height and Weight
attributes can be updated,
even if the field has been
filled out in the RIS

Please note: Patient data is only


saved locally if it is updated on the MR
scanner. If the patient data is used
