LEARNING EPISODE 1
REFLECT
1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why? Why
Not?
Yes, I would like to teach at Villaflores College. School is good performing, other than that
the school facilities is well maintained, the orderliness and the ambiance of the classroom is nice,
the students are well manner, the classroom is good condition which motivate both learner and
teacher of assessment learning.
2. What kind of school campus is conductive to learning?
A conducive to learning type of school campus may vary from different students.
But generally speaking, for a school to be conducive, it should have facilities that help
all types of students in the learning process. It must offer various ways of gaining knowledge in
all aspects like physical, emotional, and social, and not only about intellectual growth
3. What kind of classroom is conductive to learning?
A classroom in order to be conducive needed to be created where it reflects students and
the learning that happens in it. Classrooms should always be attractive, comfortable,
and promote inviting environment that students would want to spend time in it. It should be
aligned to what the students need and should be developed and designed for students learning
where various types of works can happen at once, and promotes student involvement.
4. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number 3?
5. Write your additional learnings and insights here.
Teachers are not the only person involved in making a classroom conducive to learning. It
requires collaboration with people related to it, like students, educators, and the
stakeholders of the school. As someone who will be an educator in the future, creating a
classroom conducive to learning requires planning and effort. The classroom setting,
decorations, furniture, and others should be done according to the needs of the learners. It is
also important to consider all types of learners in creating a conducive to learning classroom.

LEARNING EPISODE 1
REFLECT
1. Name at least five skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with
effective board displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed.
The skills that a teacher should possess in order to come up with an effective board display
are
 Creativity– she/he must be able to come up with unique ways to portray lessons or
concepts.
 Elegance– she/he must strive for balance between vibrant and conservative design so that
the message will be delivered properly.
 Ingenuity– she/he will be able to apply problem solving skills in coming up with a
display.
 Resourcefulness – she/he will be able to come up with an effective board display using
the available resources at hand.
 Innovativeness – she/he will be able to introduce contemporary topics to his/her board
display

2. Which of the skills you named in # 1 do you already have? Recall your past
experiences in making board displays. How do you practice these skills?
The skills that I already have are creativity, resourcefulness and innovativeness. I do not have
much experience in making board display, the one that I could clearly remember was in
elementary, but I am able to practice these skills.

3. Which skills do you still need to develop? What concrete steps will you take on how
you can improve on or acquire these skills.
I feel that I need to develop more elegance and ingenuity in coming up with designs not only in
making a board display and other instructional materials. I can improve on these skills by
constant practice and by research on various designs helpful in coming up with instructional
materials.

LEARNING EPISODE 2
REFLECT
1. While you were observing the learners, did you recall your own experiences when
you were their age? What similarities or differences do you have with the learners
you observed?
Yes, As I observed the learners, I recall my elementary days. The practice exercises,
recitations and board work. In my own experience, our similarities just like them I’m fond of
answering in class recitations for me class participation is very much important to test myself
if I really understand what our teacher taught us. On the other hand, our differences are that I
have this attitude that if I already understand the lesson, I will not listen anymore to my
teacher but instead I will have my own discussion with my seatmates. Unlike the students I
observed up to the last minute of the class they still listen very eagerly to their teacher.
2. Think of a teacher you cannot forget for positive or negative reasons. How did
she/he help or not help you with your needs (physical, emotional, social, and
cognitive)? How did it affect you?
The teacher I cannot forget is Mrs. Rival she is a very popular teacher in my Alma Mater.
She is known to be very strict, but very excellent in teaching; she’s also known to give so
many handwritten outlines as a requirement for her to pass her subject. I remembered she is
fond of recitations and she calls us in random, that’s why before attending class all of us
make it sure that we reviewed the past lessons and make advanced reading on the next lesson
because we don’t want her to get mad at us because we are too scared about what might
happen. But as time pass by, I discovered that beyond her strict face and strong personality is
a very loving and caring heart for her students. And now as I think of her, I also wanted to
give credit to her requisite outlines because that helped me a lot academically and
emotionally. Why emotionally? Because the efforts I exerted patience & perseverance as I
wrote those undying outlines helped me a lot for what knowledge I have now.
3. Share your other insights here.
As I finished this chapter, I learned that there are many factors to affect or contribute to
the development of a child. From Physical, m\Mental, Social and Cognitive theory which
involves the learner on hoe they’ll be able to cope up or catch up with their people around
him/her in the environment.

LEARNING EPISODE 3
REFLECT
1. How did you feel being in that classroom? Did you feel a sense of oneness or unity
among the learners and between the teacher.
While I am seating at the back of the classroom, observing, watching the students, I feel
optimistic, the feeling as if I am already a teacher of them. Within my mind I could sense the
oneness and unity among the learners and the teacher because the learners intermingled
positively to their teacher, when their teacher ask a question, they respond instantly without
hesitation. This shown by the student who have full self confidence and trust to himself.

LEARNING EPISODE 4
REFLECT
1. Reflect on your own development as a child. What type of parenting did you
experience? How did it affect you?
I think that when I was a child the type of parenting, I experienced is authoritative parenting.
Authoritative because my parents are both gentle and reactive parents. They are gentle to me
when they know I’ve than my chores and work and reactive sometimes when I’m acting as a
hard-headed person. I guess the way they’ve handled or treated me when I was a child had great
influence on how I view life and on how to manage it. I observed that as I grew older, I am a
kind of person that is reliable and is responsible with the works given to me. I’m also quite
confident and likes to explore new things. I am thankful that my parents are supportive and kind
because it led me to experience more of the things I want and to become the person I want to be
as I grow older.

2. As a future teacher, how would you establish good home-school collaboration? How
can you work well with the parents? How can you help them? How can they help
you?
As a future teacher I think I will be able to establish good home-school collaboration by reaching
out first to the parents before implementing anything that concerns their child that way, I will be
able to gain their trust. For me it is important for the parents to trust the teachers of their child in
order to establish a good relationship making the learner-teacher process in harmony. Itis also
important that teachers and parents communicate clearly and to actively share their ideas that
would benefit what the students are learning in the classroom. Parents can help the teachers by
cooperating and participating whenever there are school activities or out of school events.

LEARNING EPISODE 5
REFLECT
Reflect on the following and write your insights.

1. Imagine yourself organizing your classroom in the future. In what grade year level
do you see yourself? What routines and procedures would you consider for this
level? Why?
I see myself teaching a Grade 8 students. Similar to other, I will do the same routines which
are very applicable to my students The routines that I will consider for this level are the
following: first I will start my class with an opening prayer, second, I will check their attendance,
third, asking my students about previous discussion and lastly, I will proceed to my next topic to
be discuss.

2. Make a list of the rules you are likely to implement in this level. Why would you
choose these rules?
The following are the rules that I want to implement in my class:
1. Eating during class hours is not allowed.
2. No talking when the teacher is discussing.
3. Students are not allowed to enter the class without wearing their proper uniform and ID.
4. Students are not allowed to answer in chorus.
5. Students are entrusted to clean the room before living the classroom.
I desire to choose this classroom rules because I want a harmonious classroom establishing
unity, peace, and order between me and my future students someday.

3. Should learners be involved in making the class rules? Why?

Absolutely yes, the student should be involved in making class rules and regulations for the
reason that they should aware of such things also, in order for the students to be well oriented
and have idea whatever sanctions might give if they are violating the said rules and
implementations inside the classroom and so that the teacher will have no further explanations
since it is already agreed between teacher and the students.

LEARNING EPISODE 6
REFLECT
Reflect on the various routines observed.
1. Which of the routines will you most likely apply in your class? Why? Why not?
“Submission of Project”, that’s what I want to apply in my class but with a twist, they should
have a documentation from before, during, and after phase. It is because projects are
performance task and I want evidences that they really made it.

LEARNING EPISODE 6
REFLECT
Reflect on the various classroom rules set by the Resource Teacher. Will you have the same
rules? If not, what rules are you going to employ? Explain your answer.
As a future teacher, I believe my resource teacher and I have the same rules. It is because
we have the same goal for the learners which is to help them enhance and develop their thinking
skills.

LEARNING EPISODE 7
REFLECT
Reflect on the aspects of personal and classroom management.

1. What does this statement mean to you as a future teacher? Explain. “No amount of
good instruction will come out without effective classroom management.”
"No amount of good instruction will come out without effective classroom management.” No
matter how good you are as a teacher if you are not an effective teacher, then you are just
wasting your time. As a teacher, we should plan and evaluate our actions towards the learning of
the students for us also to achieve our set objectives. Effective classroom must be planned
accordingly.
2. What are your plans in ensuring effective classroom management?
For me, to ensure an effective classroom management, instead of punishing the class, I would
rather listen first before criticizing them. I would like to listen to them because I really want to
build a healthy relationship with them. With that, I might encourage them to study harder and
focus on what really matters.

LEARNING EPISODE 7
REFLECT
As a future teacher, reflect on the observations then answer the given question.

1. What classroom management strategies do I need to employ to respond to diverse

types of learners?
As a future teacher, the classroom management strategies that I need to employ to respond to
diverse types of learners are practicing the cultural sensitivity of learners to avoid certain
circumstances in the future and the other one is to give students a freedom and
flexibility for I believe that we are all intelligent in our own way and that I want them to find
their own skills and abilities.
