Job Purpose To plan, design and manage DTPC’s applications and databases ensuring

Manage configuration and support of data
warehouse databases.
Manage change process to different databases by
analyzing the impact of the changes, changing the
Central Repository, changing the Development,
Test and Production environments and taking care
that the applications are still operational after the
changes.
Manage the performance of databases and
implementation of correction methods.
Manage implementation of standard practices
and procedures.
Manage implementation of scripts, procedures,
etc. for operational needs.
Manage running of scripts, recompiling of
programs, stored procedures.

Manage data from different environments into the
databases or extracting data from the databases

Manage backup/recovery plan and making sure
that different types of backups are being correctly

Manage problems to internal staff as well as
external software suppliers.
Manage maintenance and support to the
ServiceDesk and DTPC staff.

process of ERP applications and software to
different environments. Different application
environments like development, testing and
production exist and different platforms.
Manage problems to internal staff and to external
software suppliers.
Manage implementation of standard practices
and procedures.
Manage support to System Development,
ServiceDesk and other staff.
Communication Agrees and communicates end-to-end service
Management levels for services defined in the Selling Catalogue.
Keeps the Senior Manager ICTG informed on the
status of high severity incidents.
Qualifications, Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or
Knowledge, similar.
Skills and Database certification will be beneficial.
Behavioural Systems certification will be beneficial.
Competencies 5-7 years’ experience within database and/or system solutions in an IT
Required environment.
Knowledge of designing and guiding solution development.
Knowledge and understanding of Public Financial Management Act
(PFMA).
Knowledge of corporate governance principals.
Knowledge of risk management concepts, frameworks and
methodology.

Knowledge of applying models, tools and methods.

Knowledge of integrating solutions.
Knowledge of designing modular architecture.
Knowledge of understanding digital technologies.
Knowledge of applying Lean startup, Agile and DevOps methods.
