Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate
.
Assay—Transfer about 700 mg of Sodium Salicylate, accurately » Sodium Sulfate contains ten molecules of water
weighed, to a 250-mL beaker. Add 100 mL of glacial acetic of hydration, or is anhydrous. It contains not less
acid, stir until the sample is completely dissolved, add crystal
violet TS, and titrate with 0.1 N perchloric acid VS. Perform a than 99.0 percent of Na2SO4, calculated on the
blank determination, and make any necessary correction. Each dried basis.
mL of 0.1 N perchloric acid is equivalent to 16.01 mg of
C7H5NaO3. Packaging and storage—Preserve in tight containers, prefer-
ably at a temperature not exceeding 30°.
Labeling—Label it to indicate whether it is the decahydrate or
is anhydrous.
Identification—A solution (1 in 20) responds to the tests for
Sodium Salicylate Tablets
