EXPLANATORY NOTE FOR STATUTORY REPORTS

UNDER SECTION 3, 6 AND 11 OF THE MONEY


LAUNDERING (PREVENTION AND PROHIBITION) ACT
2022

S/N ELEMENTS EXPLANATION

1. SCUML REGISTRATION This should be the name of the DNFI that


NAME was used during the SCUML registration
process.
2. SCUML REGISTRATION
NUMBER This should be the unique SCUML
Registration Number allotted to the DNFI by
SCUML

3. REPORTING DATE This should be the exact date the report is


filled
4. TRANSACTION DATE This should be the exact date the transaction
occurs
5. CLIENT/CUSTOMER The full name of the person (No
NAME abbreviation).
(a) Natural Person should be as it is in any
of the following means of ID
 International Passport
 Drivers License
 National ID Card
 Voters Registration Card
(b) Legal Person
 The Registration Number (RC) issued
by CAC

6. CUSTOMER/CLIENT This is the number that you dial when you


PHONE NUMBER are making a telephone call to mobile phone
7. CUSTOMER/CLIENT NIN National Identification Number (NIN) is the
NUMBER unique number issued by NIMC which
identifies a person for life.
8. CUSTOMER/CLIENT TIN The Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)
NUMBER is a unique number generated by FIRS and
issued to identify a person in Nigeria, duly
registered as taxpayer
9. MODE OF TRANSACTION This should be how the transaction was done
either in
i. Cash
ii. Account Transfer

10. AMOUNT This is the value of the transaction in


monetary terms. It can be in any currency.

11. PURPOSE OF This should be the detailed explanation of


TRASACTION the reasons/intent of the transaction.

12. The Source A/C Name should be the name


of the account sending the money. Where
the transaction is done via Financial
Institution. In a situation where the
transaction is done in cash, the Name of the
SOURCE ACCOUNT NAME Natural Person who gives the cash should be
/ PERSON mentioned here.
13. This should be the account number of the
sender. Nigerian Unified Bank Account
Number (NUBAN) 10-Digits for Local
SOURCE ACCOUNT Bank Accounts.

14. This should be the account name of the
SOURCE BANK NAME sender
15. DESTINATION ACCOUNT The Destination A/C Name should be the
NAME/PERSON name of the account receiving the money.
Where the transaction is done via Financial
Institution. In a situation where the
transaction is done in cash, the Name of the
Natural Person who receives the cash should
be mentioned here.
16. DESTINATION ACCOUNT This should be the Account number that
NUMBER receives the funds (NUBAN NUMBER for
local Banks).

17. DESTINATION BANK This should be the full name of the bank
NAME where funds are paid into.
