2 Important Information

2.1 Special settings and instructions

2.1.1 Live DVD

• DVD ROM device must be the first in boot order and DVD is inside the drive
• USB Card Reader should be plugged in and no other external hard or USB storage devices are
attached.
• SDHC Card should not be in the Card Reader when system boots up, but it should be inserted
whenever 'Find' button is pressed at the application.
• When system starts up and Knoppix is loaded, user must wait a few seconds (depending on PC) until
application automatically starts.

2.1.2 Application for Linux Distributions

• New production includes .jar file for running the Card Manager on any Linux PC (e.g. OpenSuse,
Ubuntu) as long as JRE exists. Application initiation depends on how linux environment is configured.
For running the JAR application on Linux Distributions, please use this option:

sudo DISPLAY=:1.0;java -jar /root/Desktop/CardReader.jar

2.1.3 VMWare

• For initiating Card Manager from VMWare please use (3) option.
