So, I decided to choose a cinematographer called Larkin Seiple, he was born in 1985 and is 35 years

old. The reason I chose him because he directed one of my favourite films everything everywhere all
at once. One of the main things that makes this one of the most enjoyable and incredible films I
think I’ve ever watched and that is mainly because of the cinematography. During the process Seiple
worked close with the director and together they created a storyboard where they mapped out
things like camera angles and things, so they have a rough idea of what they’re working with. One of
the core ideas was for the movie not to be told by the words the actors were saying like most films,
the goal was to tell the story using lighting, angles and plenty of other skills that made this film the
masterpiece that it is. By having the way ,we watch/perceive the way the story is told brings a whole
perspective into understanding characters, story and context. Because the way the film is shot is
chaotic, it helps us audience feel more part of the chaos/involved.]

I feel like we all wanted to do something on the lighter side, keeping the scene short, funny and
simple. I didn’t have as big as a say on the script as i would’ve liked to but that is down to myself not
being present when the final decision was made. Personally, i feel like doing a scene from skins for
example would’ve been more fitting for me as i feel like the characters have more depth and its
easier to take on the roll ofhow they might be feeling and allow me to portray it more accurately. 7
times out of 10 give or take, itend to play a character that has a bigger back-story that changes the
way you feel about them, that is my comfort zone. So when casting the scene, maybe if i were given
the role of Adam or mauve i could’ve found it easier and preformed better due to them being more
in my character type. When the group gave me the role of Otis, i was more surprised when noticing,
i had never really portrayed a character like that. Someone with more shy mannerisms, who allows
themselves to get rolled over. I thought taking on the role of Otis would be easier since the character
himself lacks what could be noted as personality traits. However i have discovered that, when
playing a character that comes across so effortlessly awkward and can change the dynamic of a
scene just by walking into the scene, it actually becomes a lot harder to play in my opinion.

One thing I defiantly learned was a new set of skills when acting. By going out of my comfort zone
and playing a character type I usually don’t play or even avoid, I learned different methods and ways
of having a more quiet and shy energy. Not only did I have to down play the way I react to things
said to my character. But also making my facial reactions/ vocal reactions a lot more timid, to
prepare for the role I had to completely shift my energy. I also developed my communication skills
because I was surrounded and able to communicate with people who knew what they were talking
about and had a great interest In the industry. If I were to change anything, I probably would change
some of the ways the scenes were shot, I feel like when edited together, it looks quite choppy and
hard to follow. I also would change the casting, beside feeling like I really didn’t fit the character, I
feel like it was cast as who people wanted to be and not played to peoples strengths/casting types .
However I found it very exciting working in the space with the lights/ cameras / mics as I feel it
makes me understand why I am doing this and overall just brings that passion for acting back.
