PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION REVIEW FOR 1st & 2nd QUARTER ON

YOUTH FOR ENVIRONMENT IN SCHOOLS-ORGANIZATION (YES-O)

To protect Mother Nature, the value of preservation and conservation of our natural resources through
environmental awareness should be instill to the minds of the youth at the very young age. Home, school, and community
are the most important units that must work together to educate the youngsters on the importance of love for nature and
active involvement on environmental issues.
In connection with this the District of Laurel participated in the projects and activities conducted by the YES-O all have
the advocacy of preserving the environment and making the world a better place to live in. These projects increased the
awareness of the learners who participated regarding the ways in which they can help to promote the organization’s
advocacy. Students improved their learning in the way that they are more able to segregate non-biodegradable wastes
from the biodegradable ones.
The activities aim to encourage them to take initiative in environmental movements and actions in this new normal.
We encouraged the 100% involvement of learners, parents, and teachers for the Clean Up Drive every first
Saturday of the month. We also motivated them to put up a backyard garden, a vegetable garden preferably, in their
homes and asked the parents for help in putting up the school garden. There is also a 100% participation rate of the
learners and teachers in Disaster Risk Reduction Activities. The learners, parents and teachers were responsive to these
activities, but the situation that we are facing right now is a big challenge in conducting activities. Monitoring their work
is also a problem encountered.
To cope with the challenges encountered, we applied some strategies and interventions. We gave incentives to the
learners with the best backyard garden. We also asked them to send some pictures of them while doing the activities.
Home visitation was also conducted to monitor them in their homes.
