Our features editor stayed the night in one of the cutest hotels in the French capital.

Just a stone’s throw away from Place de Clichy, along a quiet side street, Hôtel Rendez-Vous
(https://www.hotelrendezvousparis.com/) is a sanctuary from the bustling streets of Paris. Located in the Batignolles
neighbourhood in the 17th arrondissement of the French capital, the hotel is easily accessible by metro. In fact, it took me just
under half an hour from stepping off the Eurostar at Gare du Nord, to checking in at the hotel’s reception.

This might be a three-star hotel, but it certainly has aspirations of providing a five-star atmosphere. The rooms, just like the rest
of the hotel building, are bright, airy and clean. The lack of fridge or coffee machine in the bedrooms might put off some
visitors, but the hotel’s reception has sofas and a coffee machine, which is great if you’re staying with a group and fancy a
nightcap before bed. Plus there are several convenience shops nearby, if you need to pop out for supplies after a busy day.

Speaking of the local area, as well as being perfect for jumping on the metro to some of city’s famous monument, the
neighbourhood has a reputation for its quirky bistros, gardens and eco-district. When it comes to the hotel’s location, it
provides you with a great opportunity for exploring French and European cuisine. If you’re after a traditional French brasserie,
you’ll be spoilt for choice. Plus, there is a selection of Italian and Spanish restaurants to transport you to France’s neighbours.

Personally, I opted for an evening meal at Terrasse 17 (https://www.laterrasse17.fr/menu). The brasserie is frequented by locals
and tourists alike, and the price of my bavette avec frites was reasonable. When it came to the service, the waiters were
charming and not too slow, even by French standards. Plus the restaurant is only a few streets away from the hotel, which is
ideal if you’ve enjoyed the wine menu and don’t want to get lost in a foreign city.

The hotel offers a selection of rooms. ‘Comfort’ is their standard sized room, followed by a slightly bigger ‘Superior’. For those of
you looking for something a bit different, ‘Under the Roof’ speaks for itself, with sloping ceilings and beams, adding a Parisian
attic vibe to your stay. I stayed in a ‘Comfort’ room, which would have been ideal for even for two people. The bed was
comfortable, and there was even a desk for catching up on work.

Hôtel Rendez-Vous was recommended to me, and I can see why. Overall, it is a charming little hotel, in a great location. Whilst
its three-star status might mean you’re not getting that many extras included with the price of your stay, for a weekend away in
the French capital, this hotel is more than enough. À la prochaine, Hôtel Rendez-Vous!
