PVC Bending
PVC Bending
I. Objectives
A. Content Standards The leaner demonstrates understanding of the basic concepts and underlying theories on how to bend a PVC.
B. Performance Standards The learner independently listed needed materials and tools as per job requirement.

Resources
Spread out the activities appropriately so that students will learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the students which you can infer from
IV. PROCEDURES formative assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice their learning, question
their learning processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their life experiences and previous knowledge.

Why it is important to have a skill in PVC bending? The learners will response

Give the Personal Protective Equipment needed.

Why do we need to use Personal protective Equipment?
- We need to use PPE for safety purposes.
Lecture /Discussion and Demonstration
Procedure:
• Prepare the necessary tools, Materials and equipment. (The learners will listen attentively and take down during the teacher’s
presentation)
• Wear the appropriate PPE.
• Draw a Right Angle Bend, if you are in a room with a tiled floor,
you can use it as your guide for 90 degrees angle.
• Mark the center of the location of the bend.
• Plug-in the heat gun and apply heat to the conduit.
• Bend the PVC pipe gradually to form 90 degrees bend. Check
the desired shape by placing the conduit on the layout.
• Offset bending and 90 degrees bend has all most the same
procedure, the only difference is shape.
G. Making generalizations To bend PVC you need to have either a high-powered blow dryer or an actual “heat gun” at your disposal. The second thing to have nearby when bending
& abstractions about the conduit is a bottle of water or a hose. When heating PVC conduit it becomes very malleable, but it does not stay in the position you bend it without waiting quite
lesson a while - while holding it in the desired position. One way to speed the drying process up is by splashing cool water on the PVC to set it instantaneously.
Safety should always come first. Note that overloading may cause short circuits and/or worse start a fire.
H. Group Activity
Performance test
The learners will do bending by following the procedures.

V. Remarks
VI. Reflection Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your students' progress this week. What works? What else needs to be done to help the
students learn? Identify what help your instructional supervisors can provide for you so when you meet them, you can ask them relevant questions.

strategies worked well?
