When?

The 8th of June of 1972

Where? In Napalm

Who? A girl who is burning from a bomb victim of the war of Vietnam.

Why? In this photo we can see a girl crying and shouting of pain, she was being burned by a
bomb released in Napalm during the war of Vietnam.

Thanks to the defeat of Viet Minh against France, Laos, Camboya and Vietnam became
independent countries but Vietnam was divided, on the one hand there was the communist
part (North Vietnam) and on the other hand the capitalist part (South Vietnam). These two
were forced to make a vote where it would be decided if they would meet or if they would
definitively separate. But before that happened, the United States gave a coup in South
Vietnam, establishing a dictatorship and thus avoiding the vote, so North Vietnam began to
support the Viet Cong, the Viet-Cong is the national liberation front of Vietnam led by the
communists of Cambodia and South Vietnam. Viet-Cong, supported by North Vietnam, fought
South Vietnam but it was not until 1959 that civil war broke out. In 1964 North Vietnam joined
the war so the United States decided to support the South, but all they wanted was to be
taken more seriously, with their support the South began to gain territory.

Richard M. Nixon's presidency came to the United States, who did not want war but only to
finance the capitalist side. Since USA and the communist zone were balance, the United States
and North Vietnam sat down to negotiate and ended up signing the Paris peace agreement,
which consisted of the Withdrawal of the United States in the war being able only to finance
South Vietnam so in 1975 North Vietnam won.
