6. PROCEDURES

A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES

1. Energizer Let the pupils dance as an energizer.

2. Review What is light?

3. Motivation Class when there is a power interruption/brownout what do


you use to see things around you? (Flashlight, candle,
kerosene lamp)

4. Presentation Show some pictures of the sources of light.


B. Lesson Proper
1. Activity -Let the pupils name each picture. (Using paper strips)

2. Analysis a. Ask the pupils the following questions:


- Are these important in our daily life?
- How do these things help us?

b. Have an insightful discussion of “light “using the


concept notes.

Integration in Literacy: Learners read the important


concepts.

Light helps a lot in our daily work.


There are two types of light:
● Natural – this is the light that belongs to nature and
cannot be made by man. The sun and the moon are
things that provide natural light.
● Artificial – this light is man-made.

● There is also something that is not a source of light


if the light is not reflected like the moon.
Light is important for the following reasons:
 Traffic lights will guide people to cross the
road safely.
 The lighthouse helps those who travel at sea
during the night.
 Sunlight helps people to do their work. It
also helps make food for plants.

HOTS: What will happen if we don’t have any sources of light?

C. Abstraction What is the difference between natural and artificial


sources of light?

Integration in Math: How many suns do we have?


How many moons do we have?
Integration in Ap: What are the sources of light that we can
prepare if there is a typhoon?

Integration in MAPEH: How can we take good care of our


eyes in too much heat of the sun?

HOTS: In your own opinion, is it important to identify the


sources of light? Why?

D. Application Group Activity- Differentiated Activities

Let the learners group into four:

Group 1: Let them watch a short video and let them


identify and write the sources of light based on the video.

Group 2: Classify the sources of light into natural and


artificial sources of light.

Group 3: Give two examples of natural sources of light


and artificial sources of light around us.

Group 4: Draw one example of a natural source of light


and one example of an artificial source of light.

E. Generalization What is light? What are the different sources of light?


What are the two classifications of the sources of light?

7. EVALUATION Directions: A. Directions: Identify the pictures of objects


that give off light. Write if its source is natural, artificial or
just a band of light. Do this on your answer sheet.
