Intramurals 2019

“In sports, we reign. In unison, we gain.” This was the theme for the
annual intramurals. With this year’s concept coming from the hit series, Game of
Thrones, this event was a blast, and to say that this occasion is an eventful one
is an understatement. The team names given per grade level were Tyrell for the
Grade 7, Lannister for the Grade 8, Targaryen for the Grade 9, Arryn for the
Grade 10, Martell for the Grade 11, Stark for the Grade 12, and Baratheon for
the Lanao and Amazion Extension.
The first day of intramurals, August 1, 2019, started with a parade where
the starting point was from the school to One Network Bank and back to the
school. After the parade, the program, hosted by Mr. Allan Tolentino, started
with an opening prayer and the singing of the national anthem, regional and city
hymn. Then, the program continued with the lighting of the torch which
symbolizes the start of the fun-filled activities. This was led by the players of
KCNHS who participated in the Palarong Pambansa 2019.
There were numerous activities participated by boys and girls from Grade
7-12 and Lanao and Amazion Extension. From sports such as basketball,
volleyball, and soccer, to simple activities such as cosplaying, Sports Quiz,
Minute to Win It: Last Team Standing, and cheerdance, the school and the
students were extremely active and happy.
A few new activities were introduced, one of which is Sports Quiz. Sports
Quiz is pretty simple. Players are asked questions from different aspects of
sports and they have to correctly answer the questions. The team with the most
points wins the competition. The game was won by Grade 11 with John Ronald
Miranda, Dvien Lehn Pacheco, Kyla Charmaine Rosario, Kayzel Anne
Bagaoisan, Mariane Cañete, and as participants.
 The second day of intramurals, August 2, 2019, began with the Color Fun
Run facilitated by the Supreme Student Government. Moments later, the fun and
excitement continued with a Zumba dance also led by the SSG. Afterwards, the
games resumed instantly.
After all the games, an awarding ceremony was held in the covered court
of the school. All winners were awarded in the aforementioned place. It was
awarded that the overall champion is the team Martell, 1 st Runner-Up is the team
Targaryen, 2nd Runner-Up is the team Arryn, 3rd Runner-Up is the team
Lannister, 4th Runner-Up is the team Tyrell, 5th Runner-Up is the team Stark, and
the 6th Runner-Up is the team Baratheon. After all, this event was a stress-
removing event that let the sport side of each student come out. We will just wait
and see what the next year’s intramurals might hand us. See you next year!
