Modern democracy and the face of it

We are told that democracy has been the best form of government in all history of the world. To rectify,
we read this in our political science books. But how far does the theory actually coincides with reality?
These days democracy has been played well in the hands of political manipulators who use higher tactics
to achieve their positions in the government and make it all seems fine in the name of democracy. The
form o democracy as we know from books is indeed known to be the best form of government but
actuality is far more concerning. Each step in the government we take we will see the truth of the
matter. Old records, files, cases, proof says the democracy nowadays is just a tool for the power itself.
The powerful gains more power leaving the vulnerable section no choice but to deny it and stay aloof.
There are many examples right in front of us like Mexico, South Africa, Japan, and Pakistan. The
frequency at which the governments change in these countries is sad. It's all because of how people at
higher levels of the society materialize democracy for personal gains and subsides the basic moral and
beliefs of democracy. Ultimate agenda to keep fooling the citizens as long as they’re in power is nothing
new. It's been going on since the term democracy was discovered. But then how is the best form of
government when in a deeper hidden sense, it's oh so similar to dictatorship. Power concentrated in the
hands of power itself, where innocent citizens are prey and they are the predator.

How unfair elections are and nepotism at work

Holding elections is the most imperative aspect of a democracy. Holding fair elections is just a formality.
Nowadays, in the name of power, every single dirty tactics that laymen aren’t aware of, are used to
corrupt the elections and gain power. But it all seems latent due to the big shield called democracy.
Nepotism is real. It's more real than the promises made by party member to lure their votes in. A son of
some MLA has more power than the police working in that area alone. He would, just because he was
born in a place where people respect power and influence over skills and good faith. But we shouldn’t
generalize such an example. No, we should back it up with multiple occasions where it has been proven
true. EVM scams, corruption, personal favors, these obnoxious ways in which political men butchers the
democracy is not yesterdays news. They’ve just found a way to redirect their intensions as the face of
democracy hence the instability in the government continues. The censored media, abuse of power and
connections, the truth they try so hard to hide is hidden well. Tickets signed off from father son and his
son and his sons. But how come citizens allow these things to go on like this, if democracy in today’s
world is so heinous why does it still continue? It's all due to the institutions setup. It's not a piece of cake
to just be aware of the power and its abusers and stay away from them or take some actions. It is so
deep rooted, and had been rooted for so long that only something of a miracle good faith and strict
morals would make an impact. But history, philosophy, science, every domain of study has proven that
power corrupts not just the person, but the soul itself.

Puppet government

Puppet government is the concept where the government is for the show and the real power rests
among a few or a single person. Many countries have this form of hidden government and they call it
democracy for example Iran and Britain. They show themselves as democracy in front of the world but
they are being monitored and controlled by a single person in power. Autocracy hidden in the form of
democracy. Many other examples like Pakistan, where military could overpower the government. Infact
the power of emergency given to president in many countries is also kind of like a hidden autocracy
where president gains absolute power over state affairs. Democracy itself provides many loopholes to
the power it wants to keep distributed.
