The world-ending script

Act I: A teenage girl Gracie who's from Montana, is looking through her telescope at night when she sees
a planet moving slowly toward her, she goes and texts all of her friends and tells her parents but none of
them believe her. She decides that she is going to try and live her life normally until the planet collides
with Earth and she wants to do everything that she wants to in life before everybody dies. The problem is
she doesn't want anyone to panic about the situation

Characters, Setting, Obstacle, Goal

Act ii: she wakes up the next morning incredibly nervous about school since she doesn't want to ruin
everybody's supposed last day. But her best friend can see right through her and discovers she wasn't
joking in the text from the night before. Together the two of them just try to live their lives normally.
They get out of school and decide just to have a sleepover so that they can spend their last moments
together

Obstacles can be minor or major, and, but, therefore

Act iii: as the time nears the two are increasingly paranoid. They finally decide to do something with the
information they know and call N.A.S.A and can tell them what they saw. N.A.S.A says that they will
look immediately. The girls can now see the planet coming towards Earth and they hold each other's
hand and prepare for them to die but hear a loud boom and see that it had exploded in the atmosphere,
only little bits of debris flying down. The girls are ecstatic and can sleep calmly.

Climax, Resolution

[EXT. GRACIE'S BACKYARD - NIGHT]

Gracie stands alone in her backyard, eyes fixed on the night sky through her telescope. Her breath
catches as she notices a distant planet moving ominously closer.

GRACIE:

What am I seeing? There's a planet heading towards us!

[INT. GRACIE'S HOUSE - NIGHT]

Gracie's parents sit around the living room, sceptical as they listen to her.

GRACIE'S DAD:
(grimacing)

Gracie, honey, it's probably just a trick of the light.

[EXT. GRACIE'S BACKYARD - NIGHT]

Defeated, Gracie lowers her phone. Determination sets in her eyes as she makes a decision.

GRACIE:
(to herself)

I can't make them believe. I'll just live my life until the end.

[INT. HIGH SCHOOL - DAY]

Gracie walks the halls of her school, a forced smile on her face. She tries to act normal, but the
weight of impending doom hangs heavy on her shoulders.

[EXT. MONTANA COUNTRYSIDE - DAY]

Gracie stands on a hill, overlooking the vast landscape. She takes a deep breath, making a silent vow
to herself.

GRACIE:
(whispering)

I'll do everything I've ever dreamed of, no matter what.

[FADE OUT.]

[INT. GRACIE'S BEDROOM - MORNING]


Gracie tosses and turns in her bed, anxiety evident on her face. She glances at the clock and sighs
heavily, dreading the day ahead.

[INT. HIGH SCHOOL - DAY]

Gracie navigates the bustling halls, her forced smiles not fooling her observant best friend, Sarah.

SARAH:

(concerned)

Gracie, what's going on? You've been acting strange since last night.

Gracie hesitates and then spills the truth about the impending collision with the planet.

SARAH:

(shocked)

Oh my God, Gracie! Why didn't you tell me sooner?

[EXT. HIGH SCHOOL - AFTERNOON]

Gracie and Sarah walk home together, the weight of their impending doom in the air. They
exchange glances and share a bad nod, silently agreeing to make the most of their remaining time.

[INT. GRACIE'S LIVING ROOM - EVENING]

Gracie and Sarah set up blankets and pillows for a sleepover, trying to create a sense of normalcy
amidst the chaos.

GRACIE:

(trying to smile)

At least we'll be together when it happens, right?

Sarah nods, her eyes reflecting both fear and gratitude for their friendship.

[FADE OUT.]

[EXT. GRACIE'S BACKYARD - NIGHT]

Gracie and Sarah stare up at the sky, their hands clasped tightly together as they watch the planet
drawing nearer.
GRACIE:

(voice trembling)

It's happening, isn't it?

SARAH:

(nodding, tears welling up)

I'm scared, Gracie. I don't want to die.

[INT. GRACIE'S LIVING ROOM - NIGHT]

Gracie grabs the phone, determination in her eyes as she dials NASA's number. Sarah watches
anxiously as Gracie explains the situation to the operator.

GRACIE:

(desperate)

Please, you have to believe us. The planet is getting closer, and we don't have much time.

[EXT. MONTANA SKY - NIGHT]

The girls gaze upwards as NASA's response echoes in their ears. Suddenly, a deafening boom
reverberates through the air, and they shield their eyes from the blinding light.

SARAH:

(in disbelief)

What... what just happened?

GRACIE:

(tears of relief streaming down her face)

It... it exploded! We're going to be okay, Sarah!

[INT. GRACIE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT]

Gracie and Sarah collapse onto the bed, exhaustion washing over them as they cling to each other,
grateful for their miraculous escape.

GRACIE:
(whispering)

We made it, Sarah. We're safe.

[FADE OUT.]
