Role Designation
• Job Title - Database Administration Lead

An overview of what the above means:

This role means you will be responsible for the management (results, people, culture) of a
team, maybe global or across region, with intermittent guidance from functional leadership
and managers.
There will be times when you are actively involved in tasks to meet schedules and resolve
problems. A key part of the role will be to facilitate team collaboration and help with cross-
team collaboration to draw on relevant learning and expertise. You will analyse and evaluate
issues and relevant factors, including risks in order to plan and provide solutions. Managers at
KingMakers have a role to play in providing clear messaging to their team on company
updates and drive further context for the team on tasks and initiatives. You will be coaching
your direct reports in applying judgement to solve problems that are uncommon and
challenging for them.

“What you do” - Things you need for this role:

• Design it: ensure that everything is designed not just for now, but for the growth of years
to come, aligned with roadmaps and long-term company strategy
• Build it: make sure the teams deliver great solutions that are proven to meet the
needs of our customers as well as your colleagues in Operations, providing the
necessary leadership to help unblock complex technical issues
• Test it: ensure your engineers are accountable for their own testing and for the overall
quality of their output, making sure testing happens fast, frequently and effectively
• Run it: drive the teams to check that everything is working as expected and go hunting
for problems to solve, to constantly improve the solution
• Document Everything: make sure we have top class and up to date technical and use
case documentation
 • Mentor and coach: hire, support and onboard new team members, ensure best practice
is shared across Squads and empower the teams to share knowledge, improve their
skills and to drive change themselves
• Collaborate: constantly engage with other teams and users across the company to
identify ways to improve and build upon the capabilities of our products and to think
ahead!
