Task

1. Task 1
a. Create at least three cards and write down a number on each card. You must have at least a negative and
a positive number.
b. Arrange your cards in all of the possible positions and find the sum of the numbers in each set. What do
you notice from this activity?

Example 1

Here is the example of the three cards I have (you may use more than three cards)

+5 -3 +8
And this is my first set

+8 +5 -3 The sum
8 + 5 – 3 = 10

And the second set

+8 -3 +5 The sum
8 – 3 + 5 = 10
And …
2. Task 2
a. Create another set of cards. On each card write down a variable and its coefficient. You must have at least
one positive and one negative coefficient (see the example 2)
b. Arrange your cards in any possible position and write the result in your book and answer the following
questions
Q1. How many different orders did you find?
Q2. How do you know if that is all possible position?
Q3. Are they have the same value? Explain your answer.
