RE: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR POSITIONS ON THE LAW SOCIETY CABINET

The above subject matter refers. Greetings to you all the esteemed law scholars of kcu, I hope this finds
you well.

With the powers vested in the electoral commission under article 29(b) to organize, conduct and
supervise election and referenda … the commission therefore calls upon every student who wishes to fill
any of the following positions as referred to below to submit in their applications for the desired
position. The positions include;

1. The president,
2. Vice president,
3. Secretary,
4. Treasurer,
5. Year one representative. As provided for under article 33 of the law society constitution.
6. Counsel of representatives who shall be voted by their respective classes(Should be class
representatives)

Applicants shall dully be nominated after fulfilling the following requirements as enshrined under
article32;

1. Proof of full membership of the law society,

2. Proof of academic normal progress with no retakes
3. Must not have any criminal record,
4. Possess a copy of admissions letter certified by the AR,
5. 2 copies of coloured passport photos,
6. A list of atleast 12 nominees full signed atleast 2 from all classes,
7. Payment of nomination fee that varies as follows;
 a) President shs50,000/=
b) Vice president she 45,000/=
c) Speaker shs45,000/=
d) Secretary shs30,000/=
e) Treasurer shs30,000/=
f) Year one representative shs20,000/=

Note: 1. The above requirements shall not apply to position of counsel of class repetitive.

2. The deadline for applications is 16th April 2024 Tuesday at 5pm
