OFFICIAL MECHANICS AND RULES OF CHEERDANCE

COMPETITION
Each participating team is entitled to enter only (1) official group composed of eligible
performers (Male and Female).
All performers must be bonafide enrolled students of the school.
The entire duration of the performance must not less than 8 minutes and not exceed for 10
minutes, inclusive of 30 seconds pre-setting and 30 seconds exit/pack-up and clean-up.
Five points shall be deducted from the final score of each participating team for every thirty
(30) seconds, or increment thereof, in excess of the allocated for (10) minutes, inclusive of 30
seconds pre-setting and 30 seconds exit/pack-up and clean-up.
Routines may be accompanied by canned music and/or a band of the department they
represent.
Routines must be appropriate for audience viewing. Any vulgar or suggestive movements,
words, or music may result in disqualification. Uniforms must also be decent.
All props must be registered and cleared with the organizer prior to the performance.
Pyrotechnics and other similar dangerous or hazardous props are strictly prohibited.
There shall be no dangerous lifting formation during the presentation to avoid any accident or
serious injuries.
A panel of judges shall determine the winners based on the foregoing criteria. Any violations of
the foregoing rules may be used as a ground for disqualification or otherwise cause the
appropriate 5 point deduction on the final score. The decision of the panel shall be final.

Choreography - 35%
Synchronization - 25%
Clarity and Volume - 20%
(Loudness in cheers, yells and chants)
Costume and Props - 15%
Audience Impact - 5%
Total: 100%
