COURSE OUTLINE
Course Description :
This course (research methodology) is one of the fundamental compulsory courses for Bachelor’s degree in
Faculty of Economics and Business UNRI, with 3 credits. The topics in this course include research and
types of research, research design, preliminary study, research question, review of literature, theorical
framework, research hypotesis, divice of research proposal, variables and sample in the research, data and
data analysis, report compose technique and harvard system reference.
Course Aims:
The course explain about principle and research procedure as a tools to describe, explaine, prediction,
organize and control many problem in economics.
Learning Objectives:
After successfully completing this course, you (the student) should be able to:

4. Understand and prepare to do a research

Learning Method :
The method of learning in the class will use discussion and tutorial approach. It is means that each
student is expected to already study and learn before the topic is discussed and present in the class
based on group. Then, together every students provide comments and opinions based on they learn
beforehand.
Each student can use any reading materials, or book provided, and also general knowledge in daily life
he/she get from journals, newspapers, magazines, televisions, and so on. In general, lecturer will only have
a role as facilitator in the tutorial learning process.

Attendance and Participation in Tutorial: each student is asked to actively participate in the
presentation and discussion to give substantial comments and opinions in the study materials to
show his/her learning commitment.
Groups discussion asked to make a paper and present the paper in the class based
on topic in this course
UTS & UAS: each student is asked to answer questions and cases 2 times during the semester run (1x
during lecture times, 1x in final exam period) to show individual capability in absorbing and
understanding the study materials.

A- 80 ≤ X < 85
B+ 75 ≤ X < 80
B 70 ≤ X < 75
B- 65 ≤ X < 70
C+ 60 ≤ X < 65
C 55 ≤ X < 60
