Question 1: Explain how you included the router in the Object Palette.

Click the Object Palette button

After that click configure palette button

Click the node model button

Include (CS_3000_3s_e16_fe2_adv and click ok button

Question 2: What do you think was the problem? What caused it (router, workstation, link or just a human error)? It is a link error because it uses FDDI connection. Question 3: What is the difference between half duplex and full duplex?

A half-duplex system provides for communication in both directions, but only one direction at a time (not simultaneously). Typically, once a party begins receiving a signal, it must wait for the transmitter to stop transmitting, before replying. A full-duplex system allows communication in both directions, and unlike half-duplex, allows this to happen simultaneously. Land-line telephone networks are full-duplex since they allow both callers to speak and be heard at the same time. A good analogy for a full-duplex system would be a two lane road with one lane for each direction. Question 4: How did you change the attributes of the three workstations simultaneously? Select the tree workstation and right click on one of them, set the CPU Background Utilization to the values that was given and before click ok you need to tick at Apply Change to Selected Objects checkbox. Click OK.

Question 5: What is the mean packet size for each interval? Are all these values realistic? Why (not)? Mean packet size for each interval is 5. Yes all these values is realistic.

Question 7: Will traffic behave differently if we would have chosen exponential (2)? If yes: why? If no: what would be the difference? Are most interarrival times exponentially or poisson distributed? No, because the most interarrival times for poisson(2) distributed is higher than exponential(2) Question 8: Describe the task you just defined. What will happen when the task starts? It is a custom multi-tier task: a task in which multiple tiers are involved. The tiers are some logical representations and aren't really nodes in the network topology Question 9: Suppose we didn't choose Simultaneous as Operation Mode, but Serial. What would be the difference? What is the difference between Serial (Random) and (Ordered)? The difference operation mode between Simultaneous and Serial is: Simultaneous is execute all operation at same time, meanwhile serial execute one by one operation. The difference operation mode between Serial (Random) and Serial (Ordered) Serial (Random) is execute one by one operation randomly Serial (Ordered) is execute one by one operation manually Question 10: What is the difference between a global, a node, and a link statistic? Global statistic will show the overall network result, node statistic will show the network result only for that node and link statistic just show the result for the connection between devices. Question 11: What is the function of the Seed? Does the value of the Seed influence the simulation?
Function of seed is random seed that use in simulation, seed can affect the event of simulation
