Pre-requisite: Skills in English and public speaking.
Objectives:
 Understanding the Concept of Ethics & Ethics in Journalism.
 Understanding and analyzing legislations pertaining to Media in India.
 Understanding the importance and relevance of the Constitutional Provisions for Freedom
of Media in India and the reasonable restrictions as imposed by the Constitution.
 Understanding the structure, functioning and significance of Press Council of India and
Press Councils of the World.
Course Learning Outcomes:
 To analyze and interpret various constitutional provisions governing Media and its
functioning in India (PLO 1a).
 To understand the limitations on Freedom of Speech and Expression of Media in the
contemporary times (PLO 2a).
 To analyze and understand the convergence of New and emerging forms of Media and its
regulation (PLO 2a).
 To enhance the understanding of various allied issues pertaining to Advertisements,
misleading advertisements and their governance (PLO4a).
