I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
A. define gerund and gerund phrases
B. enumerate the different uses of gerund and gerund phrases
C. identify the gerund or gerund phrase in each sentence and name the specific
function as a noun
II. CONTENT
Gerund - are verbals in -ing forms of verbs that are function as nouns in a sentence.
They show action or a state of being.
Gerund Phrase - s created when a gerund – a verb that takes an -ing form and
functions as a noun – has a modifier, object, or both.
