REFLECTING ON LEARNING – PSII

Goal 1
Reflection at Midway Point: Halfway through the practicum, I have become more and more comfortable around the students and
started to make meaningful connections. Although, the students begin a new term on March 25 and I will have different classes to
teach and that progress will start over with a new group of students. I plan to take time on the first day to get to know the
students and figure out some of their interests so I can implement some of the things they like into my lessons.

grabbers and ways to get them back into
focus. Usually, talking in a loud voice “hey
everyone” or “Okay lets get started”
works really well. If students are still
talking, I say “I will wait” and usually this
works. Using a loud and authoritative
voice seems to work very well with my
students. Sometimes, I ring a bell and this
works too.
Reflection at End of Term: Reflecting on my practicum, I have had wonderful experiences and a great amount of growth. I feel my
classroom management has improved a ton! Over the course of my practicum, I have established meaningful connections with
students and I have been able to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Reflecting on classroom management practices, I have had notable progress in maintaining authority and setting clear
expectations. The ability to effectively use attention grabbers and refocusing techniques has helped to minimize disruptions and
keep students on task. However, there is always room for improvement, particularly in refining consistency and firmness in
addressing behaviour issues.

Looking back on this practicum, I have a profound sense of accomplishment and growth. My classroom management techniques
have improved significantly, leading to a more focused and productive learning environment. I have established meaningful
connections with students and teachers, and I will miss spending every day with them! While there are always areas for further
improvement, I also have the confidence in the ability to continue refining my teaching practices and navigating future challenges.
Overall, the end of the practicum marks a successful chapter in my education journey towards becoming an effective and
impactful educator!
