Parts Interchangeability
1994-2003 Ford/Mercury Rear Wheel Drive Cars and Trucks
Should repairs become necessary on a 4R70W involving the replacement of the forward sun gear,
sun shell, or the forward sun gear to sun shell bearing, these parts must be replaced in combination if
using new or the late 4R75E parts. Mismatching any of these parts will produce end play problems
and/or bearing failure.

Ford sells a service package with all three pieces under part # 4L3Z-7D234-AA
NOTE: These parts are not interchangeable with units with Turbine Speed Sensors!!
The kit includes:

1. Two piece #5 bearing assembly

2. Forward sun gear
3. Sun shell
