Reason for modification:

Initially the tachograph bracket was mounted onto the mobile component of the steering col-
umn.
With the new mounting (the tachograph is now screwed onto the fixed part of the dashboard),
both the field of view and the durability of cable harnesses to and from the tachograph is in-
creased.
Cranes concerned:
80001 - 80025

Projected labour:
Labour time: 3 hrs Travelling time: as required, but max. 8 hrs

1. Administrative course of action:

Settlement of costs:
The costs incurred will be reimbursed by Demag Mobile Cranes GmbH & Co. KG, however,
exclusive of any consequential costs and loss of profits.
Settlement shall be made through warranty; invoices from companies involved in performing
outsourced work for the said modification shall be addressed to:

Foreign subsidiaries and dealers shall make the handling through warranty.
Settlement/warranty handling can only be implemented as soon as the first page of this bulle-

2. Technical course of action:

Pretests and possible technical deviations:

It is possible that later serial numbers have already been equipped with the new solution;
please check if your crane is affected before ordering the parts.

Modification instructions:
1. Remove the covering plate (4) from the tachograph casing, check if there are scouring
marks at the front of the tachograph casing.

2. If scouring marks have been found, round off sharp edges and corners in this area and
insulate the damaged cables.
3. Then insulate the cable harness using the enclosed protecting hose (4).
4. Exchange the bracket (1) of the tachograph casing, touch up the cover of the steering
column (3) and fit the cover for the cable harness (2).
5. After the modification has been carried out, the steering column must be able to move
freely throughout the entire setting range without causing collision.
