Topic A: The Armenian-Azerbaijani Crisis

Good morning honorable chair and fellow delegates.

The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan is a conflict that has been going on for a very long
time and has caused multiple damages to territory and society, this conflict is rooted in the
territorial dispute for the Nagorno-Karabakh region, the history of this territory is long and
complex. This region has been historically inhabited by ethnic Armenians, but it was recognized
as part of Azerbaijan. The conflict has caused a significant amount of casualties and the
delegation of Turkey expresses its concerns about the matter.

The Republic of Turkey has been involved in the conflict since its beginnings and has taken part
in multiple diplomatic discussions regarding the topic.

The country has had ties with both Armenia and Azerbaijan, nevertheless, Turkey has a
longstanding partnership with Azerbaijan, including cultural, economic, and security cooperation,
and this conditionalizes the country’s commitment to upholding Azerbaijan’s stability and
promoting regional safety.

Turkey maintains a firm position in support of the integrity and authority Azerbaijan regarding its
borders, and up to this point Turkey has not acted or attempted to change anything militarily with
aggression or illegal occupation, The delegation recognizes the concerns of both Armenia and
Azerbaijan and stands for a peaceful resolution through diplomacy and international law.

The Republic of Turkey believes that the best way to find a long-term solution to this crisis can
only be achieved through respectful dialogue, mutual compromise, and respect for principles of
integrity. The delegation has multiple solution proposals that include participation of all countries
in order to achieve a sustainable and lasting solution to the conflict we face.

It is of great importance to ensure there is focus on helping the communities of Nagorno-

Karabakh and for this the delegation proposes setting up humanitarian corridors in order for
civilians to maintain themselves away from harm and with the economical assistance that the
delegation is willing to provide and may be provided by other countries provide a safe solution to
the harm this conflict has caused on the population.

The Republic of Turkey commits to achieving a peaceful solution to the Armenian-Azerbaijani

crisis. The delegation impulses all to absent from further escalating this conflict and assist in
reaching a safe and peaceful agreement that takes in part all demands and rights for everyone.
turkey is completely supporting all efforts to reach a lasting solution to the urgent conflict we
face.
