3.0.4.making Insurance Decisions
An example of an insurance that you will use 100% during your life would be the car insurance
because by law in my country it is necessary to have this type of insurance to be able to use the
car. If you do not have it, you can receive a punishment that could be even the jail.
Insurance is necessary to protect consumers from problems during their lives. There are many types
of insurance, some protect properties, others like health insurance would cover medical expenses in
case of illness, others include civil liabilities.
Some are mandatory, such as car insurance. Finally, there are life insurance that provide financial
support family members when the holder is deceased.
3.-What factors could increase or decrease the cost of the insurance for the consumer?
For example, the cost will be due to the insured's history of claims. If you have a clean record, the
insurance policy will be reduced year to year. On the other hand, if a user has many claims, the price
will increase and even the insurance can kick you out. In the case of health insurance, the price will
depend on the state of health of the insured.
If you have are a healthy person, the price will be cheaper than if the user's health is not good. It
also depends on the number of annual parts that you give to the insurance.
4.-Provide example of a situation where you might need to USE the insurance.
An example could be home insurance. Recently in the south of Spain there have been floods and
many homes have been flooded, causing great damage. If the family has taken out home insurance,
they can cover the repair of part of the damage. Normally, the insurance compensation is not 100%
of the damage caused, but it may cover a part of the repair.
