• By 9 Dec. (DP1) Choice of subjects
• By 27 Jan. (DP1) Submission of topic, research question, literature review
• By 3 Feb. (DP1) First (initial) reflection session with supervisor
• By 24 Feb. (DP1) Submission of EE outline
• By 15 Mar. (DP1) Supervisor comments on outline
• By 30 May (DP1) Second (interim) reflection session with supervisor
• By 31 May (DP1) Submission of reading sample
• By 8 July (DP1) Submission of second reflection
• By 21 July (DP1) Submission of complete EE draft (4000 words, incl. bibliography)
• By 12 Sept. (DP2) Supervisor feedback on EE draft
• By 7 Oct. (DP2) Submission of final version of the Extended Essay
• By 14 Oct. (DP2) Viva voce (third reflection session with supervisor)
• By 15 Nov. (DP2) Extended Essay celebration with presentations of all DP2 students =
EE kick-off for DP1

We will have 12 EE lessons. After these sessions your supervisors will take over. We will use
the EE lessons from time to time to discuss next steps.

• 30 Sept.: How to use ManageBac for the Extended Essay
• 7 Oct.: How is the EE assessed? / assessment criteria
• 14 Oct.: The three reflection sessions
• 21 Oct.: Topic, research question, title
• 28 Oct.: Literary review and research skills
• 11 Nov.: How to create an outline
• 18 Nov.: Choice of subjects for the EE

• 2 Dec.: Writing skills / academic writing
• 9 Dec.: Source citation / academic honesty / plagiarism
• 16 Dec.: Process of supervision and time management
