Contents
• The cause of this accident was looseness of connecting rod bolt didn’t
carry out maintenance and bolts were not carried out periodical
inspection. Therefore please check following three points.
A) Angle Tightening
A) Service Information GS11-08 DL, DK, DC Model
B) Service Information GS11-04 DL Model
C) Service Information GS11-05 DK-28 Model
B) Periodical Maintenance
A) Inspection and Re-tightning 4,000-6,000 hours(1 year)
B) Replacement 16,000-24,000 hours(4 to 5 year)
C) Using Molykote 1000 spray
Guidelines for using low sulphur fuel oil
• Guidelines for using low sulphur fuel oil (Service Information GS06-
035D)
– Fuel oil properties
• The fuel oil must be less than 460 μ m in High Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR) test.The viscosity at the
engine inlet should be 2.0 mm /s or more.

– Lubricant
• It is possible to continue using lubricant for HFO operation on occasions when low sulphur fuel oil (less
than 0.5%) is temporarily used in an engine which normally uses HFO, as long as it is for less than 300
hours.
– Switching to/from HFO
• Please take care to avoid a sudden change in temperature when switching from high temperature HFO to
lower temperature low sulphur distillate fuel oil and vice versa. (GS12-07)
