A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Mathematics 7

I. Objectives
This module is all about angle pairs.

At the end of the lesson the students are able to:

a. Discuss what angle pairs is.
b. Define the five different types of angle pairs

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Angle Pairs
References: Quarter 3 Self Learning Module 5 Angle Pairs
Materials: PowerPoint Presentation

III. Lesson Proper

A. Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
4. Review the last lesson
The teacher will ask about the previous lesson
-What is angles?
-What are the classification of angles?
- What is the common device that use to measure angles?

B. Teaching Learning Process

In Geometry, pair of angles are two angles that are related to each other.

Angle Pairs

1. Complementary Angles
Two angles are complementary with each other if the sum of their measures
is equal to 90.

m∠1 + m∠2 = 90 Checking:

67 + m∠2 = 90 m∠1 + m∠2 = 90
m∠2 = 90 – 67 67 + 23 = 90
m∠2 = 23 90 = 90

2. Supplementary Angles
Two angles are supplementary with each other if the sum of their measures
is equal to 180.

Example:

3. Adjacent Angles are angles which have a common side and a common vertex but no interior
points in common.

4. Vertical Angles are nonadjacent angles formed by two intersecting lines.

5. Linear Pair
Two angles which are adjacent and supplementary with each other.

C.Application

Teacher will give the students an activity.

ACTIVITY 1: LET’S PRACTICE!

Direction: Write true if the statement is correct but if it’s False, change the underlined
word or number to make the whole statement true.
__________1. Complementary angles measure 1800.
__________2. The sum of the measures of angles at a point is 360 degree.
__________3. If two angles form a linear pair, then they are complementary.
__________4. The measures of adjacent angles are congruent.
__________5. If the sum of two adjacent angles is 1800, then these angles form a
Linear pair.
