Reges Oceanfront Resort restricts smoking on its beaches and properties

New voluntary ban comes after Governor Christie’s veto of N.J. state-wide smoking ban

[WILDWOOD CREST, N.J., March 31, 2017] - Anthony Mollica, the President and General
Manager of Reges Oceanfront Resort, announces that its beaches and properties will be smoke-
free starting on June 1, 2017.

The voluntary ban comes in response to Governor Chris Christie’s veto on a smoking ban
proposed by New Jersey state legislature, which banned smoking on beaches, waterfronts and in
public parks. The resort hopes to improve its guest experience with its new smoking ban by
attracting more families, reducing waste on its beaches, and improving public health on its
properties. Additionally, the resort wants to help improve the environment by keeping its
beaches clean and smoke-free. The resort’s website says, “Widely recognized for our cleanliness
and exemplary hospitality service, the Reges is family owned and operated, celebrating over 40
years of service.” As a family focused and owned resort, comfort and safety is a top priority.

Similarly, New York also imposed its own ban called the Smoke-Free Air Act, which bans
smoking in public spaces, such as parks and beaches. Smoking bans everywhere are helping
improve public health and the environment. The Reges hopes to do the same with its new
voluntary ban.
