PCS100 ESS Overload Curves (Provisional)

The PCS100 ESS Overload Curves show the absolute operational limits (trip levels) permitted
by the ESS software for various preload levels.

Three thermal protections are employed:

1) System copper thermal model to protect the system wiring
2) Module copper thermal model to protect the module PWM reactors and cables
3) Module IGBT junction thermal model to protect the PCS100 module IGBTs.

The maximum safe overload duration is the lower of the Copper and Silicon protection curves
for a given preload level.

Specified claims are plotted for reference:

- 120% for 600 seconds from a 75% preload.
- 150% for 30 seconds from a 100% preload.
- 200% for 2 seconds from a 75% preload.
