13. Break up: to separate into smaller pieces.
14. Eat out: to have a meal in a restaurant, etc. rather than at home.
15. Hang out: (informal) to spend a lot of time in a place.
16. Check out: to pay your bill and leave a hotel, etc.
17. Figure out: to think about somebody/something until you understand them/it
18. Cheer up: to become more cheerful; to make somebody/something more cheerful
19. Look after: to be responsible for or to take care of somebody/something/yourself
20. Shut up: (informal) to stop talking (often used as an order as a rude way of telling
somebody to stop talking)

23. Check in: to go to a desk in a hotel, an airport, etc. and tell an official there that you
have arrived.
24. Deal with: to take appropriate action in a particular situation or according to who
you are talking to, managing, etc.

27. End up: to find yourself in a place or situation at the end of a process or period of

31. Catch up: to reach somebody who is ahead by going faster

(especially British English, informal) to attack and beat somebody severely

35. Go ahead: to travel in front of other people in your group and arrive before
them.

something of poor quality, etc.
47. Show off: to try to impress others by talking about your abilities, possessions, etc.
48. Bring up: to care for a child, teaching him or her how to behave, etc.
49. Show up: to arrive where you have arranged to meet somebody or do something
50. Sleep in: to sleep until after the time you usually get up in the morning
